From Burnout to Rest Rebellion

In 2023, my nervous system waved a white flag.

It wasn’t a whisper — it was a full-body, soul-level request: stop.

After decades of giving, guiding, holding, and helping, I found myself exhausted — not just tired, but emptied.

I’d spent years letting opportunists feed off my empathic energy, mistaking their need for my purpose. I kept saying yes, even as my body screamed no.

That’s when burnout arrived — not as punishment, but as initiation.

It was my invitation to retire people-pleasing, to stop feeding narcissistic and addictive energies, and to come home to myself.

It was my invitation to remember that empathy doesn’t mean self-erasure.

So I did something radical.

I rested. I created boundaries.

And somewhere between the quiet and the chaos, Respite Play was born.

🌿 The Birth of Respite Play

Respite Play began as a survival instinct — a sanctuary I built to reclaim joy through nervous system repair, creativity, and authentic connection.

It’s the art of remembering who you are beneath the noise.

It’s the science of regulating your body back into safety.

It’s the soul of play as medicine.

The way a woman can pause the world, protect her peace, and return with art, laughter, and alignment?

That’s not burnout recovery — that’s Respite Play in motion. 🎨

Through countless dark nights of the soul, I learned that healing isn’t about becoming someone new — it’s about unbecoming everything that drained you.

💫 From Overgiving to Overflowing

My journey from overgiving to overflowing taught me that peace is power, and rest is a radical act of creation.

It showed me that boundaries are not barriers — they’re the banks that let our rivers flow stronger.

Now, as a holistic life and wellness coach, I guide others through this same reclamation:

to soften without collapsing, to serve without self-abandonment, and to play without apology.

Every woman who has joined me in Respite Play has added a spark — a reminder that we are all “re-MINDing” each other how to passionately play, create, and come home to joy.

I am endlessly grateful for this community of wise, wild women who remind me that healing doesn’t have to be heavy — it can be holy and hilarious.

✨ Daily Re-MINDers

💫 You can rest without guilt.

💫 You can protect your peace and still be powerful.

💫 You can love fiercely and still have boundaries.

💫 You can move from overgiving to overflowing — again and again.

This is the sermon we live, not just on Sundays — but in every breath, every boundary, every brave pause.

Join us in Respite Play.

Where rest is holy, play is sacred rebellion, and your own health is always in your hands.
